Spreading kindness is more important now than ever. These are challenging times, with many people still trying to recover from the impact of Covid-19, floods, social unrest, load shedding, and global and local instability. To encourage the public to spread kindness, Society Cappuccinos has launched a Random Acts of Kindness campaign that encourages selfless acts – with free packs of Society Cappuccinos being handed out to the public, who are in turn encouraged to pass on the love by sharing sachets with strangers, neighbours, colleagues or friends.
“The Society Coffee brand was created out of a desire to bring people together and drive connection by creating a coffee shop experience wherever you are,” explained Natalie White, COO of Society manufacturer, Joekels. “With many people feeling more overwhelmed and disconnected than ever, little acts of kindness can go a long way, sparking a kindness chain reaction that positively influences communities at large.”
Kindness is not only beneficial to the recipient, but to the person acting out of kindness as well. According to Dr Waguih William Ishak, a professor of psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, USA: “The rewards of acts of kindness are many. They help us feel better and they help those who receive them. We're building better selves and better communities at the same time."
Society Cappuccinos teams are bringing the coffee shop experience to the streets by handing out free packs of Society Cappuccinos in communities, at universities, at traffic lights, in office parks… spreading random acts of kindness in random locations! Each pack will contain a message encouraging recipients to pay it forward by sharing the sachets with others. Invite a neighbour over for a cuppa, give a sachet to a colleague who’s struggling, or reconnect with an old friend. Every cup starts a conversation.
The kindness continues onto digital platforms where Society Cappuccinos is encouraging people to tag friends or family who need a random act of kindness on the @OurSocietyCoffee Facebook and Instagram pages, and the team will send them a box of Society Cappuccinos.
“So often we look for the big ways we can make a positive impact, and often land up doing nothing because there’s so much need around us and it’s so overwhelming,” noted Candice Sessions, Society Marketing Manager. “If we all just take small steps towards spreading kindness and love within our networks and communities, the collective impact can be huge.”
Society Cappuccinos and Mochaccinos are available at a variety of leading supermarkets. For online shoppers, or those wanting more information, Society Cappuccinos can be found at www.joekels.co.za or on Takealot. Otherwise, join the conversation @oursocietycoffee on Facebook and Instagram.
