Ingredients
1 Cup Milk
4 Egg Yolks
1 Cup Thickened Cream
⅓ Cup Sugar
1 Vanilla Pod
1 TBSP Corn Flour
2 TBSP Society Vanilla Cappuccino Powder
Method
- Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthways and scrape out the seeds
- Pour the milk and cream into a saucepan and stir over a medium heat, then add the pod and seeds. Stir constantly for about 5 minutes or until the milk mixture is hot, however do not let it boil
- Once the milk mixture has heated up, place the saucepan aside from the stove and remove the pod
- In a heat-proof bowl, add the egg yolks, sugar, Society Vanilla Cappuccino powder and corn flour, then whisk until all ingredients are combined
- Slowly pour the milk mixture into the egg mixture while continuously whisking
- Once combined pour the mixture into a saucepan and stir consistently over a low heat for about 15 - 20 minutes, or until the custard thickens. Be careful not to let the custard boil, as this will cause it to curdle
- Once the custard has thickened, remove it from the stove, then you can serve hot or place it in the fridge and serve cold
