Sugar-free Rooibos Gummies
Rooibos health benefits are numerous. From easing insomnia, to helping eczema and even assisting in alleviating hypertension, it's no wonder so many people are adding Rooibos into their diet. These gummies are free from refined sugar, so they're a great way to lower your family's sugar intake. When you want something sweet but don't need an unhealthy sugar spike, these gummies are perfect. They are Banting friendly as well!
Ingredients - Sugar-free Rooibos Gummies
400ml Coconut Milk
30ml Butter
20ml Xylitol
1/3 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
3 Laager Rooibos teabags
60ml Cold water
45ml powdered Gelatin
Rooibos Vanilla Pear Smoothie
Summer months mean we're often less likely to make ourselves a hot breakfast. But don't skip the first meal of the day, as it's actually the most important one. Some of our favourite Rooibos tea recipes are for quick and easy smoothies, and this is one of them!
Ingredients - Rooibos Vanilla Pear Smoothie
1 Laager Rooibos teabag
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1/3 cup Boiling water
2 Pears, cored and diced (don't peel them, unless you don't like the skin)
1- 2 Tablespoons Honey
4 Tablespoons Oats
1 cup Plain yoghurt
½ cup Milk (or almond milk), chilled
1 teaspoon Lemon juice
Method - Sugar-free Rooibos Gummies
- Heat the coconut milk, butter, xylitol, cinnamon, vanilla and rooibos teabags in a saucepan.
- Simmer for 5 minutes and then remove it from the heat. Set it aside to steep.
- Pour the cold water into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin on top, stir and leave to sit for 5 minutes.
- Pour some warm water into a bigger bowl. Lower the smaller bowl with the gelatin in it into the bigger bowl with the warm water and allow to sit in the water until all of it has become liquid. Make sure that no warm water runs into the gelatin.
- Remove the teabags from the tea mixture and stir ¼ cup of it into the gelatin before pouring it all into the rest of the tea mixture. Stir to combine.
- Pour into ice trays and place into the fridge for at least 2 hours before turning out. Store them in the fridge in a sealed container.
Method - Rooibos Vanilla Pear Smoothie
- Place the teabag into a mug and pour over the boiling water. Add the vanilla and honey and stir to dissolve.
- Let the teabags steep for 1-5 minutes depending on the strength you want. Remove it and refrigerate the tea for a few minutes.
- Put the pear and oats into a blender and pour in the tea.
- Pour in your milk of choice and blend until smooth. Serve right away.
